Quality Assurance/Quality Control
Our Quality Assurance Program is an essential element in the firm's
continuing quest for excellence. The foundation of the program is based
largely on the senior level staff here at Johnson/McKibben Architects,
Inc. Our Project Management Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manual is
another key element which clearly outlines the standards, procedures adopted,
and process which is followed by the project team. As project documentation
progresses, periodic reviews are made at varying stages by the CAD Manager,
the Project Manager/Architect, and regular "peer review" meetings.
The Principal-In-Charge continues to review the project throughout this
process to not only monitor the progress but to review the quality and
accuracy at each phase. During the final phases of documentation, the
Principal-ln-Charge conducts a formal Quality Assurance Committee review
of the project. The extensive review process coordinates the Construction
Documents with the specifications. During this review a final "check
set" of documents is prepared for revisions. Once these final corrections
are revised, the principal will review in detail each sheet as he/she
seals and signs each sheet. No drawings are issued from the office without
review and approval of the Principal-in-charge.
This process is also
utilized by our consultants. JMA expects, and demands, our
consultants to produce documents under the same strict Quality Assurance
that are produced here at Johnson/McKibben Architects, Inc.
CADD
100% of JMA design and construction documents are produced using the latest
computer technology. These include Autocad Release 2000, Microstation,
and
numerous other CADD software applications. Data can be transmitted or
received
anywhere in the world in a matter of minutes through our JMA website,
FTP site, and
e-mail. Through the years, JMA has produced an extensive CADD manual which
dictates the high level of standards and procedures for producing our
computer
documents. The JMA systems developed allow us to produce accurate, and
consistent electronic documents in a very efficient manner. All our computer
stations
are networked for quicker more accurate interface with our 3D computer
modeling
department. Both the computer modeling and the CD production are interface
to give
us the luxury of continual design modeling and evaluation.
3-D APPLICATION
Three dimensional modeling and animation is an essential element in the
JMA process
of design and documentation. Immediately after the design concept is established,
the
JMA Animation Department initiates the "modelization" of the
project. Creating
computer models, and using state of the art software, the design is evaluated.
The
animation process begins during the conceptual phase and is included in
our basic
services. Our systems are so sophisticated that this total "modelization
interface" with
our production is nearly seamless. Our recent "modelization"
and animations for the
DFW Automated People Mover was one of the largest Architectural/Engineering
accomplishments in our profession. At any point of completion, your review
of the
project can be as a "snapshot" model or a "real life"
walk-thru. JMA's modeling of your
project offers you the review of light, scale, space, color, patterns
and textures of
building materials. Animated "walk-thru's" or "still"
camera shots offer you a complete
picture of your project.
JMA can "capture"
your actual site on video and transfer that "real-life" image
to the
computer. From that image we construct your computer model on your site.
The JMA production studio will take your project and produce a DVD, digital
tape, CD
or standard tape which you may use for your purpose.
